Safeguarding Trainers required - Could this be you?

We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic self-employed workers to run our Level 2 and Level 3 Baptist ‘Excellence in Safeguarding course’ in churches.

Who will you train

Level 2 - Church workers and volunteers who work with children and young people or adults at risk.
Level 3 - Ministers, trustees, elders, and deacons and for those who take on the role of Designated Person for Safeguarding or Safeguarding Trustee for their church.

What skills, qualities and experience do you need to become a trainer?

  • A genuine interest in safeguarding in the church setting
  • Evidence of active involvement in safeguarding at church level, usually in a leadership capacity or
  • Evidence of professional experience in safeguarding, usually as a specialist worker (e.g., social worker, police officer or designated lead for SG in Education or Health sectors)
  • Able to provide evidence of relevant experience as a trainer using interactive materials, case studies and managing group work with scenarios
  • Commitment to keeping up to date on key developments in relation to safeguarding in a church context
  • Commitment to delivering safeguarding training for local churches for at least 4 days each year
  • Evidence of ability to talk about safeguarding issues in churches at leadership level and address concerns from delegates about safeguarding policy, reporting in sensitive pastoral situations and pastoral support needs

SEBA Safeguarding trainers do receive payment and expenses for each training sessions delivered.  Training materials are provided and the SEBA Administration team will deal with the practical arrangements of venue, refreshment and delegate communications.
